Sharing Community in Rosedale

Rainbow Mennonite Church is a proud Freedom School host. The church has sponsored a site in both summer 2007 and summer 2008, and will be sponsoring a site again in summer 2009.

The Rainbow Mennonite CDF Freedom SchoolSM is a 6-week summer educational enrichment program for children in grades K-8. Curriculum emphases include: literacy/reading, cultural enrichment, parental involvement, and social action/community service. Rainbow's Freedom School is one of 16 in the KC metro area and one of 130+ across the U.S., all under the auspices of the national advocacy organization, the Children's Defense Fund.  At our site, we serve 100 children - the majority of whom reside in the inner-city neighborhood surrounding the church.
